One of New Zealand’s leading regional District Health Boards are looking for multiple qualified Cardiac Physiologists as part of the development of their Cardiology Service. This exciting role will involve participation in the establishment of an interventional cardiology service and a dedicated cardiac catheterisation facility.

The Role

The Clinical Cardiac Physiologist role consists of a service to outpatients and inpatients by assisting in the provision of specialist cardiac investigations including:

  • Cardiac Angiography
  • Left and right heart studies
  • Pacemaker follow-up and implantation
  • Exercise testing
  • Holter tape/event monitoring
  • Sesta Mibi
  • Echocardiography and PCI when the dedicated catheterisation lab is established.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience.
  • Relevant clinical cardiac physiology work experience.
  • Experience in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and/or pacemaker implantation is desirable (training will however be provided as part of the development of the interventional service).
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board (CPRB)
