Job Description

We are looking for Site Managers to support various construction and infrastructure projects throughout New Zealand.

 

The Site Manager will be responsible for managing the site team and ensuring that safety, quality, cost and time requirements are adhered to throughout the duration of the contract, including the maintenance period that follows.

 

Reporting to the Senior Site Manager or Project Manager, duties and accountabilities will include:

  • Work with the Project Manager and Senior Site Managers to produce construction methodologies and programs which accurately define the project and comply with the contract requirements.
  • Work with the Project Manager to ensure effect of delays are analysed (within 20 days) and claims for extension of time are prepared and substantiated for Client’s representatives.
  • Work with the Quantity Surveyor for the approval of payment to all Subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure all personnel on the work site understand and comply with the requirements of the Project Management Plan, Head Contract and Project Specifications.
  • Undertake Quality Assurance checks to ensure works are being carried out to the requirements of the Project Quality Plan, Head Contract, Drawings and Specifications.

 

Job Requirements:

  • A relevant trade qualification or qualification in Construction or Project Management
  • Significant experience in hands-on site management of commercial and civil construction projects
  • Excellent programming ability as well as organisational and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead teams and managed and coordinate subcontractors
