Cable Jointers

Location: Auckland, Auckland City

Position: Trades & Services, Cable Jointer

To assist with the installation and repair of LV, HV and EHV Underground Cables.

Working Partners/Contacts:

Team Leader or General Foreman.
Members of the Public.
Project Managers.

Tasks:

- Efficiently and effectively complete all allocated work related to the installation and repair of underground cables
- Successfully complete directed training programmes to continually update skills
- Maintain effective relationships with Siemens Energy Services and United Networks staff, customers and suppliers
- Timely and effective maintenance of all allocated plant, equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working order at all times
- Provision of timely assistance in the repair of system faults and participation in a faults standby roster
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policy, legal and regulatory requirements

Education:

Applicants must hold a Line Mechanic qualification and practising certificate, as well as certification and/or evidence of technical jointing skills. Applicants must also demonstrate a sound understanding of technical, regulatory and safety issues related to the electrical supply industry. The appropriate drivers licences are also required.

Knowledge/Languages:

Strong communication skills, both written and oral English are important to this role.

Experience:

Applicant must be experienced in the installation and repair of LV, HV and EHV Underground Cables.

Capabilities:

An ability and willingness to learn as well as initiative are important to this role, as are a positive customer service orientation and both the ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
