Position: Trades & Services, Line Mechanic
The purpose of this role is to............
To effectively and efficiently manage all allocated human and physical resources on a day-to-day basis, ensuring all allocated work is completed in a timely manner.
To assist and complete as directed, the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical reticulation and distribution systems.
To assist in the repair of overhead and underground reticulation and distribution system faults.
Working Partners/Contacts:
Allocated Line Mechanics, Trainee Line Mechanics, Trades Assistants, Utility Workers, Lines Manager, associated Business Unit Managers and industry Network clients.
Tasks:
To provide effective day-to-day on site management of all allocated human and physical resources.
Efficiently and effectively complete all allocated work related to the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground reticulation and distribution systems.
Successfully complete directed training programmes to continually update skills.
Maintain effective relationships with Siemens Energy Services and Vector staff, customers and suppliers.
Timely and effective maintenance of all allocated plant, equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working order at all times.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policy, legal and regulatory requirements.
Education:
Must hold a Line Mechanic qualification and practicing certificate. Must also hold appropriate Warrants.
Knowledge/Languages:
Must possess an above average understanding of technical, regulatory and safety issues related to the electrical supply industry.
Experience:
Exposure to people management techniques is important and previous leading/managing experience is an advantage.
Capabilities:
Proven planning abilities and work organisation skills are important.To effectively and efficiently manage all allocated human and physical resources on a day-to-day basis, ensuring all allocated work is completed in a timely manner.
