Lineman - Glove and Barrier

Location: Auckland, Auckland City

Position: Trades & Services, Line Mechanic

The goal of the Glove and Barrier role is to safely and accurately complete allocated work related to the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground reticulation and distribution systems.

The major challenges of this role are to attain a nil accident rating, to improve work practices to assist in the Company’s achievement of synergy benefits and to improve house keeping of all mobile plant and equipment.

Tasks

- Efficiently and effectively complete all allocated work related to the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground reticulation and distribution systems
- Successfully complete directed training programmes to continually update skills
- Maintain effective relationships with Siemens Energy Services and Vector staff, customers and suppliers
- Timely and effective maintenance of all allocated plant, equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working order at all times
- Provision of timely assistance in the repair of system faults and participate in a faults standby roster if required
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policy, legal and regulatory requirements

Education

Applicants must hold a Line Mechanic qualification with Glove and Barrier practicing certificates, as well as the appropriate Warrants (training provided). The appropriate curent drivers licences must also be held.

Knowledge/Languages

Excellent understanding of the English language, both written and oral, is vital to this role. Open and honest communication is important to the job and the team.

Experience

Sound Glove and Barrier and Lineman experience is essential.
