A full range of employment opportunities exist in the Wellington region.

IT – This is a very strong sector in Wellington. Many opportunities exist across the sector from senior managers / project managers to developers, architects, engineers etc.

Government – Wellington is the centre of government and the location of all major government departments. Many opportunities exist including analysts (business, policy, quantitative/statistical), corporate planners & sustainability professionals.

Local government – Also many opportunities in local government and these include urban designers & planners, engineers, building consents officers and IT.

Health – There are three DHBs (District Health Boards) in the region, all requiring health professionals – medical, dental therapy, nursing and all allied health categories.

Business – Senior managers, advisers, accountants, auditors, analysts and HR specialists are just some of the available roles.

Professional Engineers – A whole range of opportunities are available in the engineering field – civil, structural, mechanical, geotechnical, electrical. Specialists in water, waste water, the environment, energy are a few examples.

Construction – Opportunities include - Engineers, architects, project managers, surveyors and trades professionals. Also roading supervisors, contract managers, estimators, project engineer.
